Plot Diagram

1.) Exposition- Jeannette is driving when she sees her mother looking through a trash can on the side of the street.
2.)Inciting Incident- Jeannette's dress caught on fire while she was trying to cook herself hotdogs.
3.)Rising action- Rex and Mary get into a big fight, the children think that Rex is trying to kill their mom.
4.) Rising action- Lori and Jeannette eat a stick of margerine because their parents buy no food for them.
5.)Rising action-Rex almost lets Jeannette drown when he is trying to teach her how to swim.
6.) Rising action- They move to Welch and then Rex and Mary leave for about a month. Erma molests Brian and the parents do not do anything about it.
7.) Climax- Rex beats Jeannette and she never looks at her father in the same way or respects him in the way that she used to.
8.) Falling action- Rex steals all the money from the piggy bank.
9.) Falling action- Rex scraps the face off of Shakespeare
